Sue Wilcox, MD

Dr. Sue Wilcox was born in Scotland and raised in England where she received her education from Southampton University Medical School and Bristol. She attended her anesthesia residency in Oxford, and started her anesthesia training in Durban, South Africa in 1984.

Dr. Wilcox came to the University of Virginia Medical School in 1991 as a visiting professor. She fell in love with Charlottesville and also fell in love with a local man whom she married. She became an American citizen in 2006.

Dr. Wilcox has a strong interest in natural and integrative medicine, and she has always included such methods for her patients and family whenever possible. She currently offers IV nutritional therapy at Phydos Clinic.

Dr. Wilcox has been with Martha Jefferson for the past 15 years, and she continues her work there. When not at work, she enjoys traveling, exploring the outdoors, playing squash, and being an “empty nester” to her 26-year-old son and 24-year-old daughter.
